Children's Museum

We had a belated Easter with Grandma and Grandpa Hauser. We drove up on a Friday evening and had pizza and spent the night at Aunt Lee Ann's then the next day had brunch at Grandpa and Grandma's. Grandpa and Grandma got a new kitty last year and Keira was really excited to see Lucky again. Poor cat was a very good sport at being chased, lugged around, and generally harassed for hours.

Grandma had a bag full of papers she'd run through the shredder-guess who had fun with that?

After brunch we drove over to the Coral Ridge mall. Keira rode on the carosel.

Went to the children's museum...


and got to watch a hockey game.

Afterwards we had supper someplace in Iowa City-Keira was very excited to sit with Aunt Lee Ann and Chad. She's at that age where she's figuring out how much fun Aunts and Uncles are and she definitely thought Aunt Lee Ann was pretty cool.

4th of July

For the 4th we had brunch at Grandma M.'s and went to the parade in Windsor Heights. Keira had lots of fun waving to the people on the floats and chasing candy. Her older cousins were there to help with the candy collection and the girls had quite the haul when we were done.


Several of the floats were giving away Popsicles and bottled water and one of the fire trucks had his soaker hose full of water but it was so chilly we were all wearing sweaters! Didn't stop the kids from enjoying the bomb pops!


Afterwards we went over to the carnival in Urbandale. They had lots of rides and games. Paige and Justine went on some of the spinny rides with Keira since they all have the iron stomachs. Keira rode the cars by herself and went down the giant slide with Mom.

She played the duck game and fishing game and won some prizes. She really liked the fishing game and I think she would have happy to stay there for an hour.

Reiman Gardens

Last month we went to Reiman Gardens with Grandpa and Grandma H. to see the butterflies and dinosaurs. Keira has a really good time looking for all the dinosaurs all over the gardens. We found dinosaur eggs inside...

Keira got a ride from Daddy...

and decided maybe she could get in the picture with Grandpa and Grandma...

We saw lots of flowers and butterflies....

We followed the gardens up with lunch at Hickory Park-Keira was just a little hungry-she sucked down her sandwich in record time and had a bowl of ice cream too.

Costume Party at the Library

I've been so bad about getting photos up-I have these aspirations of getting them all nicely edited and posted in order but obviously if we wait for that to happen Keira will be 40 before anyone sees these. Soooo-here's what we did today-and when I get time to edit a few more I'll post them. They won't be in order though so don't be surprised if you come and there's snow and green grass on the same days post...although it's Iowa....so maybe that's not really weird after all?


We went to the costume party at the library today. They did a story, had cupcakes, and played games. Keira had a blast. Here she is with the fish she caught in the fishing game.

Christmas in february Part 3

Our car conked out right before Christmas this year so Grandma and Grandpa Hauser, Aunt Lee Ann, and Uncle Doug came to our house. They were forecasting bad weather so we didn't get to spend nearly as much time with them as we would have like but of course were glad they made the trip(and got home in one piece too!)

Here's a picture of Keira playing with the barn box her boots came in. She got the pink John Deere sweatshirt she's wearing in the picture, some John Deere boots, and a John Deere hat. Mom and Dad got matching John Deere sweatshirts (except Dad's isn't pink!)
