Reunion!

Last weekend was the Weaver family reunion. There were over 50 people each day and believe me there were lots of kids-there's no shortage of little Weavers in the family! It took Keira awhile to warm up with all the people but once she did she had lots of fun playing with her cousins. It was really, really nice to catch up with all the cousins and find out what everyone is doing.

Saturday we went to Grandpa and Grandma Weaver's house for an afternoon/evening of fun.




Grandma and Grandpa's scored a huge hit with the big blow up pool. Miss Keira wasn't to keen on jumping in until the very end when the pool was coming down but she did end up getting her toes wet.

She got to meet a couple of her newest cousins this weekend and was fascinated with baby Joshua and spent a lot of time with him.

Sunday we went to McKinley Park-it was hot, hot, hot but again lots of fun. I started out being really good about taking pictures and then got busy talking and didn't spend nearly as much time taking photos as I wanted. The plans are to do this again next year so hopefully I can add to the pictures then.

Keira had a slumber party last week with her friend Jade. We went to the Science Center Tuesday to see the dinosaur exhibit and the girls had a great time digging for dinosaur bones. I forgot to take the camera so no pictures but I'm sure we'll be back-we always have fun at the Science Center.

Keira and Grandma drove down and spent the weekend with Grammy recently-Keira had lots of fun playing outside and helping Grammy and Grandma paint the shed.

Fourth of July Fun

We went to Grandma's house for the 4th. Keira had a great time watching the parade...

Since we missed the elephants the last time around we decided we had to get back to the zoo to see them before they left.




Rose is the female elephant and is 23 years old-she weights 7,000 lbs. JP the baby is a year and a half and weighs about 1,200 lbs.


We got to learn all about the two of them and JP and Rosie showed off how smart and agile elephants are.

Have Trunk Will Travel is the company that brought Rosie and JP to the zoo-they do a lot of neat things to encourage elephant conservation.
