Tiny houseguest.

Meet our tiny little house guest-hopefully just for the next day or two...

Neil and Keira were outside this evening with the cats when Sorry comes in the house with something in her mouth. Neil hollers at me to come see what it is. It was chirping and shrieking and at first I thought it was one of the little ground squirrels that frequent our patio. I was completely freaked because I was terrified she was going to drop this ground squirrel and it would be loose in our house. I finally get Sorry to very reluctantly release her prize and I realize it's a bird.

The bird goes scooting out the door in a desperate bid for freedom only to be pounced on by Tommers. Normally Tommy shows complete disdain for anything Sorry does but this time she decided to be a team player...fine-whatever. I get the bird away from her only to discover that one wing is completely ajar and it can't fly.

So we get it a little box with some batting and let it rest for awhile thinking maybe once it has a chance to relax it will be ok. After an hour it's wing is looking a little better but it's still not flying. Our neighbor who has some experience with birds gives it a good look over and says the wing isn't broken but might be sprained and little birdy is going to have to rest for a couple days. She also sexes the bird for us so we now know our guest is a girl.

So Itty Bitty as we've been calling her is hanging out in her pimped out shoe box with food and water, soft batting, and some leaves and will be spending a quiet night in our bathroom-far away from the cats! Hopefully she's on the mend and will be back flying the friendly skies soon.

Miss Keira is quite the little mosquito magnet this year (and man are there some big, big bloodsuckers in Iowa this year!). They were unbearably itchy today so we dotted some toothpaste on them. Keira looks like she had a bad accident with some white out.

After I put the toothpaste on her she insisted we take pictures "to show the computer" so she made some silly faces for me.

I got one good smile out of her before she went back to this....

Making pizza with Daddy

easter sleepover

Grandpa and Grandma Hauser came down a couple months ago and celebrated a late Easter with us and spent the night. Keira had so much fun have a sleepover with them.

some cheesy smiles

Here's Keira with Sorry. Grandma picked up this leotard for Keira to play dress up in-Keira however decided it made perfect pajamas and decided to wear it to bed.

Here's Keira in her flower towel fresh out of the tub.

The other night Keira had gone to bed. It was such a nice night we had the windows open and the neighbor and I were standing on our patio talking. All of a sudden Keira appears in the window and says "Can you guys shut down please-I'm trying to sleep."

Hello!

Welcome to the new blog. Since Neil and I are both so very bad about emailing photos to everyone we thought we'd try this method of sharing photos of the family. I'll try to update at least once a week with some pictures and news about the goings on.

Here's a few recent pictures...

We were down at Grammy's house a couple weeks ago and while we were there we had several nights of bad weather where the tornado sirens went off and we had to go down to the basement. The first night Keira didn't really know what was going on-the second night, when the sirens went off she ran over to the basement stairs and said "Come on, we have to go to the basement-the tomato is coming!"

Right-note to all-watch out for the killer tomatoes.
